Community and Student Engagement Ratings 2014-2015

Under House Bill 5 (passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature) all districts are required to evaluate the district's performance in regard to community and student engagement. Districts must assign one of four performance ratings- Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, or Unacceptable- to the district for overall performance, including the following categories: Fine Arts, Wellness and PE, Community and Parental Involvement, 21st Century Workforce Development, Second Language Acquisition, Digital Learning Environment, Dropout Prevention, and Educational Program for Gifted and Talented Students. Local committees determined the criteria that the district used to evaluate the categories and assigned performance ratings. Under the Texas Education Code, ensuring school district compliance with many of the statutory requirements cited is a shared responsibility between the superintendent and the local school board.

Mission

Maud ISD strives to prepare our students to be productive members of society in an ever-changing environment.

Vision

All students need to develop essential academic skills and to acquire a knowledge base on which to build lifelong learning. All students shall be taught a core curriculum of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, health, and physical education. All students shall acquire knowledge of citizenship and economic responsibilities, and an appreciation of our American heritage. Students shall be provided an opportunity to develop the ability to think logically, independently, and creatively. To prepare our children to be productive in a changing future requires an excellent educational system. The District intends to be such a school system.
